Typical medieval castilian ambience describes Burgos and Segovia. Burgos was founded in 884, and its historical heritage is evident everywhere. It is a monumental town, the capital of the unified kingdom of Castilla-Leon for five centuries, and boasts of a masterpiece of Spanish Gothic architecture, the cathedral of Santa Maria, a World Heritage. Full of charm and history, the city of Segovia is located 53 miles northwest of Madrid. In December 1985, the old town of Segovia and its Aqueduct were declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. The Alcazar (fortress) of Segovia probably dates back to Roman times, although the first documented record is from the twelfth century. The countless monuments, parks and walks and the little streets in the old part of the city make a wander through Burgos and Segovia a truly fascinating experience.

  • At the begin of the video, there is a sign that says: Basque Country, north of Spain. Not if this sign refers to the city of Burgos, but if its like that, I have to rectify it because Burgos is not a city belonging to the Basque Country.

  • The beginning of the video shows only the Basque countryside on the way to Burgos. Our tourist coach travelled along the Camiño de Santiago or Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage route, starting from the Basque region bordering France and Spain, coming from Biarritz. This is only an introduction to the Burgos-Segovia video.

  • I have been to Burgos and Segovia and I must say that both cities are indeed outstanding in terms of beauty, history and architecture.

I long to go back to Spain. What a beautiful country!

  • It depends on which part of northern Spain you are talking about...If you talk about Asturias and Galicia for example, they are not arid at all.

  • Northern Spain in the Summer, and Southern Spain in the Winter. If you do not feel a need to be near the ocean; green coast of the north or brown coast of the south, Segovia and Burgos are nice.

  • the north is not like france in winter maybe, and it's much more aride and mountainous than france but in summer is like the rest of spain, im from burgos and i know it

  • Hello,Im from Spain.

I think that the south of Spain is better than the north.
