1-step spring harvest of industrial hemp

Industrial hemp is harvested in spring harvest as dry biomass (less than 15% moisture content) for e.g. delivery to biomass-fired combined heat and power plants or uppgrading to briquettes or pellets. Cutting and pressing into bales is done in one step without placing the biomass on the soil leads to minor losses and minimal contamination with soil.
The project was carried out by Thomas Prade, Sven-Erik Svensson and Jan Erik Mattsson, Swedisch University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Alnarp, Sweden. [http://www.slu.se/agrosystems]
It was funded by Lunds energi, Partnerskap Alnarp at SLU and SLF (The Swedish Farmers' Foundation for Agricultural research).
Cultivation and harvest were carried out in cooperation with Contractor Humer, Heiligenberg, Austria.

@VikingoEl22 The field is located in Heiligenberg, Austria. Theyield was about 5 t DM / ha. This is a rather low number, as we have seen yields of ca 15 t DM / ha in a 4 year average (in southern Sweden).
