I watched a playthrough video of Fight Fever at Nico Nico Douga, and noticed that a lot of people were saying "KOF94" or "KOF*something*" during the part where the letter flies into the picture frame. They are most likely saying the letter is based on the ones seen in the KOF series. The picture frame shattering also reminds me of the intro of Art of Fighting 1. Karate Kenji was voiced by Masaki Usui, who also voiced Haohmaru and Ryo Sakazaki.
