A tight knee cap or outward shifted Knee Cap can give rise to pain while going up the stairs, or while standing from sitting position. A small key hole surgery can release it and bring back to center.

  • it dosent work guys please dont do it!!!!

  • The results of surgery depends upon following..

    1. A careful selection of condition.

    2. A properly done procedure.

    3. A proper post-operative physiotherapy schedule, which patient has to follow strictly.

One has to understand the causes of failure, before stamping a procedure.

  • i had this done 3 weeks ago

i had it done because my knee cap tilts abnomaly in when the knee is in the bent position

i had it done on one knee but will need the other done perhaps in 6-12 months time

  • I had this done about 15 years ago... Left one failed and am now left with no feeling down one side of my knee!!

Try ALL other avenues before any surgery because sometimes you can end up worse off :-(

  • i just had this done today !!!

  • Another thing i must add is that my reason for surgery was both genetic problems with my patella having the wrong angle of track on my leg from being born, which i found this out in painfull dislocation I went threw 6 disloactions before my surgery and im hoping that i will not have to go threw any more with my left, as for my right i have surgery comming up soon this year for it as soon as i recover from my left.

  • @Millertime9969 yeah my quad anthropeed(SP?) down to like nothing before i got cut, i use to love to run too, got CMP bad in 2000, did not get cut till 2009 and after surgery i could not make a running stride at all ( i am talking even trying to jog acroos an intersection) untill 3 monthers ago stairs still hurt, knee still gives out from time to time, this sugery sucks

  • @rmiller9969 how is yor knee coming i had the same surgery done in feb2009?

  • @puggster i had this done in february 2009 and i must say my knee is still at maybee 75%

  • I just had this done on my left knee a week ago and I am still in crippling pain. I have my first phy therapy visit today and I hope they can help out with som electrostim. I never would have guessed it to be this painful. Absolutely miserable.

  • it worked on my left knee

ive seen a vast improvment in mobility and reduced pain overal

athough a complication ether during or after surgery left me with part of my thigh totaly numb which has been like this for around 10 months.

ive just also had my right knee done 2 weeks ago

im sure it will reduce the pain i had before

    the operation considirbaly

athough i feel this might take some time

  • guys we have to be realisitc and doctors as well. this procedure has very few chances of success. the fact is that the surgery involves the cut of a ligament in order to try to relign the patella. the ligament may not heal and if it does it does with scar tissue. plus nothing replace the cartilage. it is better to tight the ligament with the all inside procedure rather than to cut
