"The Call to the Post" - Race Preparations

This is a video of the preparations within the last couple of hours before a race is run.

I have always had trouble imagining how the average-looking horse I see poking its head out of the stall is the suited-up athlete I see running on the track. This helped me connect the dots. Hope you like it! Sorry I don't have steadicam with my little $100 video camera.

How many time does the horse spends in the receiving barn and how many times for the checkpoint for everyone? About 20 minutes for each?

I am not sure on exact time, but the horses leave their barns about one hour before their race. They each get their shoes checked once and are usually all in the receiving barn 40 minutes before the race. Then they leave to go to the paddock about 10 minutes later.
