  • I remember being a freshman in HS the first time I heard this arrangement. Even at 14 years old, I was able, along with my classmates, to recognize the depth of emotion brought about by this work and others. 20 years later, as a private vocal instructor, I still surround myself each week with hours of "me time," revelling in Victoria's O Magnum, Bruckner's Os Justi, Mozart's Lacrimosa, and the like. Thank you for posting this!

  • @jlevine9570 - Thanks for your kind comments. It is humbling as a singer to hear what our art engenders in people. After those three pieces, you must be a gibbering emotional wreck each week!!!

  • Sadly, my vocal teacher had me and my fellow peers learn 3 pages of this wonderful work of art, and then decided it was too far above our skill level to do. Needless to say, I'm upset she chose this, and we were never able to show her how well we all really could sing. Kudos to all those who sang in this, it sounds heavenly!!

  • @Misti303 What a shame! It's a sublime work to sing, and it will just 'click'. When we arrived on the day to rehearse this concert, this was the first piece. We sang it straight through - all of us just feeling the music flow. There was silence when we finished. We couldn't believe how it had just clicked into place so well. I really do hope you get to sing it again some time. Victoria was a genius, and knew how to write for the voice. Thanks so much for your comments. Simon

  • This is amazing! I love it. This is my all time favorite song to perform. Very good singers.

  • Many thanks for the comment. The singers only 'got together' on the day of the concert and this was the first piece we rehearsed. I knew, from those first note, that they were going to put on a first class performance.

  • Hey!! And the applause??? I was expecting to hear a standing ovation after this beautiful performance. BRAVO... BRAVISSIMO!!!!

  • Exquisite rendition of my all-time favorite piece of Sacred Music, and my favorite piece of Christmas music. Thank you!

  • The blend and flow are just simply divine.

  • I sang this along with many other pieces in my high school choir, THIS was my favorite. This exact arrangement. Dang, we were good.

  • The person that disliked this because they died because it was so pretty and wished they were alive to listen to it again.

  • @condos7 watch?v=zWpubrctRyI <--- CLICK ! O Magnum should be in the midpoint of the video.

  • watch?v=zWpubrctRyI <--- CLICK ! O Magnum should be in the midpoint of the video. It's purposely up a half step in order to tune better.

  • We sang this at our church carols by candlelight last year. It was such a beautiful moment, and I enjoyed listening again to it, and hearing all the harmonies and flow of the music.

  • doing this in my concert choir. absolutely beautiful.
