Taken from his 1967 'Where The Action Is' tie in album 'In Action', Keith Allison tackles Ray Charles' 'Leave My Woman Alone'. It's performed in an Everley Brothers Country style rather than R'n'B, but none the worse for that.
By the end of 1968 Keith had replaced Charlie Coe in Paul Revere and The Raiders, a union that would last through to The Raiders final album in 1973.

  • I seem to remember 'LOOK AT ME ' on the B side of a 45 The Raiders did. I don't remember which song though. I have it buried in a box of old 45's. I'll have to look and see which one it was and get back to you. kenhier68@yahoo.com

  • @kenhier You can never be too sure in the world of Record Collecting, but I believe I have everything The Raiders ever recorded and 'Look At Me' is not amongst them. Please dig out that record and let us know who did record it.

  • Do you have Keith's version of Look At Me?

  • @rob068 Sorry, I don't have that one. Was it released on a '45'?

I have the 'In Action' LP and 2 singles but 'Look At Me' is not amongst them. Any info on it would be appreciated.

  • Thanks for posting..I'm not Keith! Great guitar from Mr. Guitar- Keith Allison!

  • @keithallison1 Thanks for listening. Like you I have always admired Keith's guitaring,no disrespect to Charlie Coe,but I always wish Keith had joined The Raiders in '67.Just imagine if both he and Freddy Weller had been allowed more input both musically and vocally in the same way Drake Levin and Phil Volk had.

  • I love his versions of Do It and Catch the Wind on his In Action LP. He just always seems like he loves playing sooo much it is joyful.

  • @mrrayjd Not sure if it was a single. I have an mp3 of it. I knew it first from Cher's cover version, then I found an mp3 of Keith's version a couple years ago.

  • Do you have Keith's version of Look At Me?

  • By that time Revere and Lindsay had total control of the music...but still a good thought!
