Laid off since January and falling behind on his mortgage payments, Joshua Berger of Medford takes to the streets Wednesday, March 18, 2009, wearing a sandwich board listing his qualifications. Video by Jim Craven/ Southern Oregon Media Group.
tough guy doing this. We really do have to get inventive finding work. I myself have been unemployed since the end of May 2008, yes, that long. It's like tossing my resume to the wind each day. Perhap's, I will do something like this as well. Two weeks away from ending my unemployment, so I better figure something out. I wish the best to those still looking.
I feel your pain Josh, I've been laid off since Jan. as well.
I know what your problem is though. As an aircraft mechanic, you actually produce something. Something is broken, and then you show up, and it is fixed.
To survive in the blackhole that is the fiat "service" economy you need to have a profession that contributes nothing, and then no one will notice slowing demand for your product.
Like a stockbroker, or a media analyst for example.
It took my cousin 1 1/2 years with a Masters Degree some Years Ago to find a work !
