Thums up if you use old computers in 2012

Nice, man. This brings back some serious nostalgia - my first experience "online" was a PB 486 running Win 3.11 - I think we had a 14.4k modem or something back then, haha. Motherfuckin' Netscape too - such memories.

Try Opera 3.62. It crashes, but not so much as to be unusable. Same with Netscape 3.04. That one effectively never crashes. At least on my box.

MS-DOS doesn't handle RAM above 1MB - 640KB for programs and the rest for device drivers and system usage. Anything else is provided with tools such as EMM386, QEMM or JEMM, all of which have certain addressing limitations. But, I do recall that QEMM97 can see at least 512MB of RAM and dole it out as DPMI. Not useful, but interesting no doubt.. On another note, I must be becursed. Netscape 4.08 Navigator ran *far* slower on my P120 with 16MB.

It is fun - people just don't know. I went around and gathered up some software from my old diskettes and now I have a fully capable cable internet 3.11 machine. I use all the stuff to make it look really good. FTP, FreeAgent, HGopher, IRC, IExplorer5 and a time correction utility. I use DOSLYNX or LYNX for the web, because I found surfing to be a crashing experience on the old browser programs in Windows 3.11 - all of them.
lol 4 MB ram your can upgrade to more ^^

@MichaelYoshiFan At the time it had 48MB, I think MS-DOS v6.22 can only handle 64MB, which was an arse-load in 1992. It actually would probably run alright on 4MB although I don't know if it would run in 386 enhanced mode.
