I too remember seeing him on TV. Red Skelton is a true American Hero. Thanks for posting this MrBillTroop73

I remember Red. My dad used to watch him all the time, and as a kid I sat around and watched him too. Whatever happened to people like him I'll never know.

My point is *my* and others allegiance to America and it's citizens is regardless of their religious belief unless those beliefs lead to taking away our alienable rights (any theocracy) The pledge was written by a *Christian Socialist* in 1892 long after the founding fathers framed the Constitution. My mistake that it was 1954 not 1950 "under God" was added.

@gnutbeam My point is, we are all endowed by our Creator with certain UNalienable rights, meaning that no man nor government may take away those rights.

So before "under God" was added in 1950 the Pledge of Allegiance" was no good?

@gnutbeam before that, it was assumed by good Americans that "under God" was implied by our Founding Fathers throughout our existence as a country. It wasn't until 1950 that "under God" actually needed to be stated. So, perhaps, before 1950, the Pledge wasn't AS GOOD..
