Gordon Liu is Wong Fei Hung

One of my hobbies is kit-bashing 12" scale action figures. This time round I customised my very own master Wong Fei Hung figure, with the headsculpt of Gordon Liu from Dragon brand.

In my opinion, there has not been a far more accurate portrayal of master Wong Fei Hung, none other than Sifu Gordon Liu's rendition. Gordon Liu being a Hung Gar practitioner himself, showed the world the beauty of our Hung Kuen on screen through his Shaw Brothers movies and various TVB series. I also hope that someday we can possibly have a reboot of the Wong Fei Hung movies, since Tsui Hark did a gross misinterpretation of the true Hung Gar master by showing those modern wushu BS. We have seen Muay Thai, Wing Chun and Choy Lay Fut, yet Hung Gar has been a joke in the movies. It is time we take Hung Gar to centre stage once more.

I dedicate this video to Sifu Gordon Liu, who remains my idol to this day. I hope this video will cheer him up and I wish him a speedy recovery.

There is actually a series of Huang fei Hong by Gordon Liu that I saw on youtube. But I don't where can I find the whole series. Anyway, good job on these clip!! :-) (I actually thought that WAS a real human Gordon Liu at the beginning... :-p)

Thanks Jun Long. Yes that series is titled "Wong Fei Hung and 13th Aunt". Some of the fight clips are available on youtube but I think you can find it on youku instead, for the entire series. I am trying to find the vcd/dvd here
