W.C. Bauer, Baker University and Baldwin City were forever linked in 1907, when a young Baker professor electrified the institution and then the entire town. Although debate raged across Kansas about the merits of the new technology, Baldwins citizens embraced electricity and in doing so became models of independence and self-sufficiency.

The documentary was produced with a grant from the Kansas Humanities Council.
