Michael's College, Colchester, VT - In the international peace community, the movement to end the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories through the use of boycotts, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) has been controversial. Our speakers will debate both the fairness and effectiveness of BDS as a method of resolving the conflict. Arguing in favor of the motion: Omar Barghouti, Palestinian researcher, commentator, and human rights activist. He is a founding member of the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI) and a leader of the BDS campaign against Israel. Arguing against the motion: Dr. Steven Scheinberg, professor emeritus of History at Concordia College in Montreal and co-chair of Canadian Friends of Peace Now, a Zionist organization that works for peace between Israelis and Palestinians and monitors illegal settlement activity in the West Bank. Moderated by: Bill Wilson, Saint Michaels Emeritus Professor of Political Science. For more information, please contact Laurie Gagne at lgagne@smcvt.edu or 802.654.2205. Sponsored by the Peace and Social Justice Program at St. Michaels College, initiated and co-sponsored by Vermonters for a Just Peace in Palestine/Israel.

@panafilmxxx Zionistfobic? HAHA good one
I am not only Zionistphobic, but if Zionism was a man I would cut it into a million peace dice it and PISS on it then burn it and flush the ashes in toilet. I hope that conveys to you what I and ALL freedom and human rights loving people on earth. Zionism/Zionists should not only be stopped or made illegal, they should be violently decimated world-wide, ALL the ills of the world today can directly be attributed to the domination of parasitic Zionazism.

I see on YouTube a widespread concern for the suffering of the Palestinians. As commendable as this activist's sentiment is, it can quickly lead to a naive, exaggerated and oversimplified view of not only this particular conflict, but also geopolitical reality in general. International diplomacy, world history, political philosophy and moral theory are all far too complex to accommodate silly retreats into black and white conceptions of good/evil and right/wrong.

Zionism MUST BE utterly decimated in such away that it can NEVER rear its ugly parasitic domineering head ever again. The world will always be a slave to members of this CULT if this cult was not destroyed once and for all.

By international law, Israel isn't occupying any land. The last nation/empire which had recognized legal ownership of the west bank was the Ottoman Empire. The current Arabs who are trespassing on land which is the Jewish homeland are the occupiers. Jews can dig anywhere on the West Bank with a reasonable likelihood of unearthing some Jewish artifact or other from ancient Judea and Samaria which proves that Jewish settlers in the West Bank have returned to their ancestral homeland.
