India faces a major energy crisis because of its rapid growth, but traditional energy sources won't be enough to meet all future needs. This programme looks at sustainable alternatives. We visit Asias largest wind farm and look at whos benefiting from this electricity generation. We then visit a bio gas plant and ask whether this renewable energy source is a solution better suited to meeting the needs of Indias rural population. We look at the problems the bio gas plant is seeking to address and find out how it has benefited the community, in particular the women.

@workwithnature thorium. it is safer than uranium (half life is much shorter and bombs cannot be made with it). it is 600 times more abundant than uranium. one single tiny pellet is enough for a single person's entire lifetime needs. unfortunately, it will be a good 20 years before a commercial thorium power plant is made.

Hey Nice wind energy and methane digester, hope it will help in some ways. It probably will be a good short term solution. As people associated it with green living. I wonder some times what will be the ultimate solution to our growing demand on our mothers resources....
