Just showing off some of the neatness that is the VATS system in Fallout 3, even early on in the game.

This is some of the first combat you can encounter. There are very minor, very early game spoilers in here, so don't come yelling at me! Not that anyone should care...

It's pretty impressive about capturing really good camera angles... Oh, and I'm not slowing the video down, the game does that on its own. I AM, however, speeding up my actual targeting.

but by the way fallout 3 is f'in AWESOME

  • What can I say, I'm a responsive guy. :D

    And yes. Yes it is.

  • Hey, I always play games on hard or very hard mode, but on most sandbox type games I just go with the default difficulty. However I see you are playing on VH, so can you point out a few of the differences? is it only the enemy's HP, or what?

    Thanks in advance

  • On Hard, I think... You do 75% damage and enemies do 150% damage, and you get an exp boost, but I'm not sure how much...

However, I KNOW that on Very Hard you do 50% damage and enemies do 200%, and you get an even larger exp boost, but again I'm not sure of the number or if it only applies to kill exp. As far as I can tell, this is the ONLY difference in difficulty. Prices, skill checks, item drops, and spawn counts appear to be identical.

In general, Very Hard is actually... Pretty easy.

  • Maybe but the xp bonus means zilch.

After all the games is capped at lvl 20 with loads left to do.

  • Yeah. It sucks that the only way to get a challenge out of this game is playing on Very Hard, yet if you do you get %150 XP, so you hit the cap even sooner!

Thankfully, (for the PC version at least) there's a few mods out there already that balance this.
