  • hey plz help me!! i have a ddr1 pc fromk emachines. I put another ram in it then it beeped 3 times like seconds. i removed the new one put the old one and it still beeped. Can u tell me what the problem is.

  • @teamvideosquad2 I'm sorry, but your description is fairly vague. From what you've said, I would assume that the RAM is incorrectly installed in the motherboard (hence the beeping). To resolve this issue, make sure that the RAM is completely in its slot, and that the clips on top and bottom have snapped down again.

    Best of luck!

  • Hi just replaced my 512 DDR with 1 gig DDR, all works fine, but can I also use that old 512 more more RAM. There is one dark slot and 2 blue slots, I replaced the 1gb into the position of the old one which was the dark slot. thanks in advance.

  • Also, in your case, I doubt that having one 1gb DDR in one slot will work while having another 512 mb DDR chip in the second slot. Usually, PC's are very picky about both slots containing the same ammount of memory, though there are a few exceptions depending on the manufacterer of the computer.

  • I haven't tried it for fear of blowing anything, but if I did try putting the 512 in another slot would it effect my computer, or just come up saying 'computer said no'? Thanks in advance and cheers for the first answer. Like I said the 1gb is in the dark one with 2 blue slots free, does that make a difference? Rev 1.0 N20400A 15-K31 011000 AMD Athlon xp if that helps?

  • Let me go eat dinner and I'll be right back with you. :)
