Well yeah, but I heard it somewhere else too...I don't know, I just KNOW I did.

  • @Tel1mektar

Wow, thanks for giving me a tip off.

    Searchin around

  • continued2- Since USA and its NATO allies are not likely to ever meet in combat that only leaves the Russians and Chinese. With our superior armor, supported by A10 Thunderbolts and Apache Helo's it's doubtful the Russians and Chinese would have much of a chance even if their tanks are numerous. I'm afraid that tanks are a weapons system of the past given modern world politics but Armor is still a very interesting field of any army's arsenal of weapon systems. Let's give Peace a try...

  • continued- I still work in Defense industry, as does one cousin who is now a program manager for DoD armor projects. We all waited with baited breath when our armor went into action in Desert Storm. M1 Abrams as deployed by US Army and USMC are awesome weapons, as is the Israelie Merkava in its specialized role. The Merkava has highest crew protection in the world AND carries its small infantry contingent. Germans, Brits and French all have great tanks comparable to our Abrams.

  • From the late 70's thru early 90's my Step-Father, 2 1st Cousins and myself were all involved in US armor production and testing. I worked for Teledyne on the early 120mm gun development & the turbo diesel used on the M60-A3 and Israeli Merkava, my Step dad worked for FMC on the Bradley and related anti-armor Systems. 1 Cousin had 16 years of US Army Tank training and 1 Cousin was USMC Armor. Without discussing any "classified" subjects it made for interesting conversation at family BBQ's...
