@pheistychick You are already in prison my friend. Your thoughts tell us that. Like liuv83 says..open your mind to the possibilities. This won't happen in our lifetime, barring a breakdown of the social structures..which could indeed happen.

The design is most 70´s and early 80´s. Old stuff like songs of Michael Jackson. Good, but old. Better develope some new coneptions and give a shit of perry Rhodan and Isaak Asimov.

unsinkable, indestructible, light weight, self efficient but cheap... Somethings not addin up here
those are some big ideas, too to account for everybody

@spaceman1958 The Venus Project hopes to create a diverse, efficient, and advanced society to lift all people up to their highest potential, unlike the Village Project which seems to just want closed off communities of farmers. I see the resource-based economy as far more desirable than the traditional-esque economy of the Village Project, although I would love to hear your arguments for Piscataquis. I love debates.

Great video. Thanks for sharing

Full of interesting ideas, but not exactly a bottom up, organic, incremental approach like the Piscataquis Village Project.

Lots of good ideas but the result appears do be a really boring place to live. The problem with these visionary schemes, going back to Le Corbusier and Ebenezer Howard, is that the designers don't seem to understand how cities really work. People should read Jane Jacob's "The Death and Life of Great American Cities" before they attempt any futuristic city planning.

how would a caveman react if somebody would tell that one day he will live in a house where water would run from taps, where he could have light by touching a button and where he could store food for days and cook it whenever he wants? UTOPIA MAAAAAN

that future is not in my generation, it might take 100years to get that kind of place on this lethal planet.
I'm with RiffRaff.
And what will we do with all of those rebellious people who don't want to live in these 'central planned' cities? I'd rather live in a shack in the woods than be cooped up in one of these prisons.

I would suggest trying to keep an open mind, these are only ideas, no one is forced to do anything they don't want to... it's about creating a free society, that's if society decides to do it.

"The Venus Project is an organization that proposes a feasible plan...."
There's no "plan" here, just a daydream of a utopian future that is impossible to attain.

It's just a whole lot better, not perfect, not a utopia.
