It's challenging to add so much info into such a short video, but my hope was to introduce, entice and connect with you regarding a philosophy that I truly feel helps to make the world a better place. There are many different yoga perspectives and I encourage you to explore them all. This salutation is one of my favorites, especially when it comes time to add alls sorts of interesting sequencing.
The breath is key and that which is traditionally used with this moving meditation is called "Ujjayi Pranayama" - not to confuse anyone, but we work with the throat lock, called "Jalandhara Bandha" which is similar to creating a slight constriction on your inhale and exhale, the sound similar to that of the sound of the ocean. Notice through the practice if you are holding or straining the breath. When the breath becomes even it assists in calming our body, as well as, our mind.
