Moon TV had the cameras out once again this year at the Cross Of Spancilhill for the annual horse fair. It takes place every year on the 23rd of June.
As you can see there is no shortage of characters at this gathering. It's amazing that the Fair Of Spancilhill has stood the test of time and is still hugely popular to this very day. Despite the rapidly technologically advancing times that we live in today, this unique event is still rich in our heritage and culture.

Spancil Hill - the story behind this story is priceless... epic, and so sad. Michael Considine, I believe, is the one who wrote the original poem. Does anyone know more of the story. I know the poem was written for a woman named Mary Macnamara. Any more info on this?
