Just a quick gag on the audacity of the No posters, and the timidity of the Yes posters. Don't worry if you don't like it, it's only got a shelf life of about two weeks. Then it'll be ancient history and you'll have no idea what I was on about. Recorded in Doyle's Pub on College Green, 9/9/09.

But if Turkey would meet all the criteria, basically it would be a normal country you do not need to be worried about much.

Anyway, there is no certain agreement on Turkey and if it will join EU at all. Lisbon treaty will not affect this subject. So your attempt to SCARE the people (again and as usual as I can ee from your comments) is not adequate.

Go lie somewhere else. The campaign of lies is getting more and more desperate the less and less days are left.

First of all your claim that Turkey will have "20 times the voting power of Ireland" is based simply on population ratio, WHICH IS INCORRECT, the smaller countries have higher voting ratio per capita. But while you are not educated in this field, you can only shout your scary phrases to manipulate people.

For the second, Turkey has to meet all the criteria given by the EU Commission plus the Copenhagen criteria. Wiki gives all the info regarding this subject and Turkey is far from joining EU.

The desire to have laws made by politicians elected by a country's people is not "nationalism" ..it's democracy !

Maybe you have heard of this word...maybe not.

Your attempts to brand people with a different opinion to yours as "nationalist" or "liars" are very sad. Especially as you know that Lisbon is just a re-packaged constitution that MILLIONS of French and Dutch voted against !

Germany's leading expert on Lisbon/constitution is Professor Schachtschneider who recently said that the treaty will lead to a "burocratic dictatorship".

YOU may be happy with that but millions of us all over Europe NEVER WILL BE !

Does Turkey have to meet the same criteria the EU commission set for Rumania....you know,the criteria they faied to fulfill about tackling corruption and organized crime ?

Plus we should also have in mind, that it is normal to distribute the votes according to the size of a country. It would be not normal to distribute them equaly between Malta and Germany, in my opinion it is kinda clear. But then people are blinded by their nationalism they can not to understand simple logical conclusions.

He's very funny....but the Lisbon treaty isn't because it bases voting on population size. When Turkey joins the EU it will have 20 times the voting power of Ireland.

It will be joining,ask the un-elected commissioner on enlargement.
