Yup, your right about wearing it outside the suit. I did some research and they used velcro wrist straps allowing them to be long enough to wear around the bulky spacesuit. You can even see Buzz wearing it in that famous Time magazine photo. Appearently the actual watch Buzz wore got missplaced or stolen on its way to the Smithsonian. Just where did you get that watch?

How did Buzz see his wristwatch while he was on the moon? Did his spacesuit have a viewport for so he could see it, or did he wear it outside his suit?
