After years of being married, I think I rubbed off. The last few years she has gone from an 8" tube, to a 10" sealed and now a 12" ported... now I've caught her looking other speakers. This is just quick vid to show what it does now. 01 Montana, stock electrical, Cerwin Vega 124 (very underpowered) in a prefab being pushed by a Profile Baja amp (about 225 watts rms), running off a Sony headunit.

The amp was used to power the 10" she had and lately she's been asking if a bigger amp would give her more bass lol. I guess I know what to buy her for Christmas. Man it is so nice to have a wife that understands my stereo obsession.

  • Hahaha!! Amazing what one speaker can do!! You should mount two at the back corners angled and each facing her seat. Same principle as a surround sound i.e. pointing towards the recipient. In stead of the air intake tube, would a reflector help on one of them? This I think slows down that wave from behind the speaker, but reflects that lower wave to the front so no wave property is lost. That way your wife would not need a bigger amp and she would receive a cleaner wave.

  • @Catalyst2 Actually I was thinking about doing a transmission line enclosure. We've had this van since 2001 and used it to haul a LOT of stuff (it shows lol). The idea was to keep it simple and easy to unhook if needed. I like that idea though and considering the 12's in a old Q-Logic and only getting 1/2 of its rated rms. I think I know what you mean, but feel free to draw it up and message me.

  • It sounds super distorted on camera, but is actually pretty clean for what it is. You can kind of tell when I back away from it.
