MR Jaco Pastorius has got to be the REASON why todays bass player STILL has someone to look up to..to emulate, but NEVER EQUAL...respectfully.. he is my bass Jesus.. my axe Allah..our 4 string father in heaven.. been playing for over 20 years, will have to play for another 20 years to earn tone and groove near Jaco`s benchmark jam...his mould was broken and thrown away...pity..

What a huge waste of a truly talented human being was Jaco's untimely death! Rest in peace Jaco! I pray God have mercy on all of our souls!

His loop almost sounds like the one he used to play in Offenbach at 1978. Unfortunately I was born ten years too late to see him performing there :( Nevertheless, great tune from one of the greatest bass players :-)

Thanks Jaco, you 're THE BASSMAN
Most skilled and gifted bassist of all time. On the same level as Charlie Mingus. Tnx for the upload.

The first bass line Jaco plays is from 'Sing A Simple Song' by Sly and the Family Stone.
