Every year some 35000 cyclists from around the world, take part in this 109km ride. The route starts in the center of Cape Town and covers most of the Cape peninsula, finally finishing at the Green Point Stadium just outside of the city center. This RLV version detours at Soetwater and includes the loop around Kommetjie which was part of the original tour

Route Description
This popular racing and social ride starts at the Civic Centre in the centre of Cape Town. One is immediately faced with the leg burning long drag up the Eastern Boulevard. A brief sharp downhill to Hospital bend which appropriately named, has seen many cyclist take a tumble. The route undulates past the University Of Cape Town and on through the leafy suburbs of Newlands, Bishops Court, and close by the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. The first steep but short climb of Bishops Hill eventually leads onto the fast and flat Blue Route.
