Straight from Brasilia where she held talks with President Luis Inacio da Silva, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and the rest of the Philippine delegation members made a stop at Brazil's Marvelous City, the Rio, to look once again for investment opportunities in the Philippines.
She was accorded military honors upon her arrival early evening at Rio de Janeiro's Base Aérea do Galeão and was welcomed by airbase Commander Col. Saulo Valadares Do Amaral and City Mayor's Office Chief of Protocol Ambassador Stelio Amarante.
Rio de Janeiro City is widely known for its beautiful Copacobana and Ipanema beaches and as the site of Brazil's most famous landmark, the Christ the Redeemer giant statue atop Corcovado mountain. It was the capital of Brazil from 1763 to 1822 during the Portuguese colonial era, and from 1822 to 1960 as an independent nation.
