My first engine rebuild ever, and it was a great success! Thanks to everyone who helped me diagnose the problems, and a special thanks to V8Jagnut for the videos he made for me, which really helped.

  • Daniel can you please do Redmax vs Echo ?

  • I've got the video, I tried to upload it yesterday, but my dad unplugged the internet from the computer, and the upload was stopped. I'll try uploading it again today.

  • Great work! Many of those new briggs engines run like that, because their carbs are set to run lean, and most of them don't have adjustment screws. I think this might be the problem, but everything sounds real good, awesome job, keep up the good work!

  • Thanks. Yes, that must be why it's running rough, and it doesn't even have carburetor adjustment screws.

  • Does the oil pump work?

  • yep!

  • you should never start a briggs engine without a base plate or pully's hooked up because the flywheel is aluminum so it will shear the flywheel key

  • now that's a good tuned briggs and stratton

  • no engine load, rich air\fuel results, spark knock. mowing grass it probably purrs

  • Carb needs to be Adjusted, once you do that it shouldnt surge like that.

  • did you replace the spark plug and check the magneto could be the rough running??

  • im 14, i did my first b&g engine teardown and rebuilt when i was 12 ( ok ok, with a little help, but not much ) and it took me abouth 3 hours

  • the only reason it runs rough is because briggs runs their newer motors real rich so they keep cool

  • good job

  • @Smallgasengine1 ok i will put it on within the next few days

  • @Joeyad4 do a video of them running
