This is my reconstruction of BBC 1 Closedown in 1972. I don't know if this one is right; could anyone remember seeing it? I would like to hear your comments, thanks

  • I had to stand up when this was playing.

  • Hmmm....reconstruction means completely made from scratch, not just putting audio with video.

  • @MrBrownberry

So it should, the BBC as the national broadcaster should play the national anthem.

  • that was used until 28th December 1974, when they switched to the yellow, on blue identity, do you have the Reconstruction, of the 1974 Globe?

  • This version was used until the very end of BBC1 closedowns in 1997, it is still used today on BBC Radio 4 after the shipping forecastbefore 1 am

  • all i can say is trippy as fuck when yer look back

  • Pretty authentic.I wouldn't have watched the closedown in 1972 because my bedtime was 9pm,,ha,ha but that globe intersected nearly every programme,I well remember.Colour tv was now becoming affordable for most households.

  • This is the wrong version of the National Anthem though...it was much slower in those days. That version lasted until 1980 I think.

  • But in fact it is really reconstructed by Ulead Videostudio. I put the National Anthem with the Globe from Monty Python's Flying Circus.
