Cuba, 1933
B&W, No audio

The Corn, OK tornado of 1951 was a milestone, but contrary to popular belief, it wasn't the first twister caught on film (though it was the first in the US). The first recorded tornado (at least that anyone has unearthed thus far) in world history was almost two decades earlier.

In 1933 a small vortex was filmed in Cuba. It took the form of both tornado and waterspout.

  • no you idiot.

the sky just has a boner.

  • @wwefan008 helicopters did exist then

  • @sonnyfoxable bad video, it did touch the down, condensation funnel just didn't extend down. That's what records say anyway.

  • technically, it wasn't a tornado since it never touched the ground.

  • This is indeed as far as is known the first motion picture of a tornado.

  • @wwefan008 Those are clearly giant bologna sandwiches.
