Ford came first and will always be first, chryslers done and chevy is technically a gov't owned company now. but Ford is still taking names all with its own money haha.

Sweet! The Y blocks sure are tough engines. Mine has 142,000 original miles, and has never been rebuilt. After 5 years as a daily driver and a trip from Maryland to California (turning around 3000 rpm the entire way), the Y-block has never let me down.

@willvb13 The fact that there is not Chevy one in this video is enough to see there is no problem with it.....

@h200022 yah but ya cant be ignorant towards chevrolet cause remember ford and chevrolets driveline was mostly bought from Dana and New process.The only two major differences between em were the motors and trannys.I own a '79 jimmy and I have to give it to Chevrolet for buildin the best motors and trannys back in the day.Everyone knows the TH400 just like everyone knows a 350SBC is a great motor along with the 454BBC.Dont get me wrong the 351W is a great motor and I got nothin against a 460BBF

Can someone please tell me exactly what an open header actually is? I thought I knew, but after watching a few vids, I seem to have been mistaken, and I would really like to know...

@Slimer2x3
Headers with no mufflers.

The Y block was also used in medium duty and heavy duty trucks and they hold up just fine in that application. They are strong engines.
