UB Research: Extending the Life of Batteries for Electric Vehicles

Esther Takeuchi, SUNY Distinguished Professor and Greatbatch Professor of Advanced Power Sources at the University at Buffalo, has already made her mark in the biomedical field with her signature inventions: the tiny batteries that helped make implantable cardiac defibrillators and other medical devices a life-saving reality. Now, Takeuchi is leveraging her knowledge to take up a new challenge: tackling power source issues key to developing electric vehicles.
