  • Jim Pugh is THE MAN! ! ! !

That man knows how to develop a solo over many bars, not just playing fancy lick after fancy lickwith no musical continuity, like most keyboard players I've heard. Its not enough to be a good technician if you can't develop a musical idea over more than two bars. Jim Pugh is one of the few who can pull that off beautifully.

  • I agree, he has a great sense of narrative in his playing. Nice to know he's still with Robert after a recent shake-up that saw Karl and Kevin leave the band.

  • OMG, didn't know........what happened to Karl and Kevin? We are just getting ready to purchase tix to see the band in Chico, and don't want any surprises. I would have been heartbroken if Jim left the group.

  • Last I heard Robert Cousins is back on bass and Tony Braunagel is the new drummer.

  • Pretty sure Karl and Kevin were with RC last nite in Ridgefield CT 3/6/9

  • No, they've definitely moved on. Check Wikipedia for the new lineup. There's also a recent clip elsewhere on YouTube featuring Richard and Tony.

  • I'll never forget the first time I heard this song live. I already had the album and had listened to it a million times. Then I went to his show and I literally teared up when he performed this song. I love this man.

  • F---ing awsome!! At a loss for words on the brilliance of this song.

  • J'AIME TROP !

  • shitty synchronisation,not worth watching.

  • I knew Jim, I lived up the street from him.

  • @jjboyjames I agree, but the way I see it Jim has the best gig in the world. Playing keys for Cray has got to be even better then Paul Shaffer's cushy gig.

  • Cray's voice and guitarwork simply carries me right along with each note. His smooth reminds me of Sam Cooke.

What a guitarist and singer. Simply great!

  • that's my dad!

  • Just discovered Robert Cray after a flyer landed on my doorstep this morning for a local gig. He's great, and I;m off to get my tickets for the Bridgewater Hall Manchester.

My wife thinks he sounds a bit like James Carr. I have to agrre.

  • The more I listen to this man play and sing the more I realize just how much is going on with his playing; he plays like no one else.

  • Saw him in Aberdeen, WA recently.. Jim Pugh really steals the show, really.. he's awesome

  • He is not as big as he should be.
