To commemorate the Franz Liszt Bicentennial Year 2011, the Longfellow Chorus and Orchestra performed 'The Bells of Strasbourg Cathedral' on February 26, 2011, at The Longfellow Choral Festival in Portland, Maine.

This is Liszt's cantata setting of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's 'Prologue' from 'The Golden Legend.' The soloists are Tania Mandzy, mezzo soprano, and Bradford Gleim, baritone.

The Longfellow Chorus and Orchestra is directed by Charles Kaufmann.

The photos of Strasbourg Cathedral in this video were taken in Strasbourg, France, by Charles Kaufmann, on September 12, 2011.

To hear our performance of Arthur Sullivan's cantata setting of this same text, please see our YouTube video '1/6 Sullivan: The Golden Legend.'
