Completed another speed painting. This one took me around 24 hours using photoshop.

regardless of whether it's considered "art" or not, it takes a lot of technical skill to replicate something that well, and it makes for great practice for original paintings

Lol oh reddit. He used a grid. Plus, If you look closely, you can see where he used actual artist techniques to get the details. If he was tracing, he would have gone straight for the details.just sayin.

Either way I could never pull this off, but I have the artistic ability of an unborn baby.

This is fantastic! Although it uses a photograph as a reference, the tonal layering is awesome. Keep up the good work man!

For any nay-sayers: If it's not trash to learn a song on guitar by using tabs, then why is it trash to use a photo as a reference to paint something?

do you not see the brush stokes he doing manually by hand with a tablet? thats the same exact method as i said in my previous comment about a piece of tracing paper and a picture. There is no copy and pasting here. Yes it is photoshop, but do you think you could have the exact same final product that you see here? the answer is no. Not unless you have the skill to recreate something like that, even with the picture literally sitting one layer beneath the canvas you are drawing on.
