Optec's UI Guide

I run-through of my UI and the mods I use. I get lots of questions about my mods and how I set them up. I decided to make a video explaining them.

I go into detail about how I setup Power Auras Classic. I have also uploaded all my mods as a UI pack to curse. I recently tweaked my UI extensively to make it tidier and simpler.

Note in my previous video I have had to crop my UI as I use a 1680x1050 (16:10) widescreen display and youtube HD is 720p 1280x720 (16:9).

How do you create that grayed out area that you embed your mods in? I've seen a number of mod packs that do that but never figured out how to do it.

@killgore699 It took me a while to figure out how to do it but in the end I finally found Sunn - Viewport Art. It adds a texture as a background but all I did was set it to overlay no texture and adjusted the alpha take make a semi transparent grey area to dump mods in :)

OK this may be a nub question... What is the circular addon to the mid left of the screen?? Is that a part of a mouse addon? I like the small set up for certain spells.... would be nice....

@SMLawrence8 It is necrosis and is just a way of accessing spells easier and tracking soul shards (it is now out of date and I don't beleive works in cata)

I love destro warlocks that post guides to help other locks but their rotation on such a simple spec is wrong. Please stop posting vids all your doing is hurting other locks. Anyone that feels differently about his rotation and how they think he's doing it right please feel tee to speak up.

@jklittlemf I normally don't reply to things like this but in this case I don't understand how it is constructive. The title of this guide is "Optec's UI Guide" I made it to show people who asked about my UI setup how I do it. It is not a 'rotation' guide as you put it. I have other guides out there for this. They may not be 100% accurate but what I am doing is giving people the basics. I worry if you think my guides are 'hurting other locks'.

Fascinating, I know this is outdated, but if I download your Warlock Pack, will your configurations be installed as well so that I dont need to set anything up?

The thing that displays how much time is left on your DoTs, whats it called and how do I move it around on the screen?

Got a little question about this addon, i use it to time my improved soul fire, tho when the timer get at 10 secs the timer dissapears.

Any idea why?

@Belenenses4ever If you have bartender you can hide your bag "bar" so it isnt visible anymore

just wanted to say thank you for the guide and the UI pack (as well as the cata warlock change videos). Really makes the time at the office tolerable on those difficult days.

On a random side note, I was watching this video earlier at the office and tried using the closed captioning 'transcribe audio' youtube feature. Wow, definitely good for a laugh!
