  • In the Minho area where my ancestors are from, JDP was used by men when leaving their own village, for example irrigation of the farms. Often, misuse of the irrigation channels lead to conflict between villages and single abodes. JDP's origin is not Indian or Chinese, it most likely comes from Lusitanians during their wars against Rome, over 2000 years ago. These ancient tribes fought very close Guerrilla type combat using a short sword, and naturally would use a similar fighting method.
