This is a painting by artist David Ballinger. I took pictures of the painting process and put them together for this video. First, I painted my thumb print on a 24" x 30" canvas with acrylic paint. Then made parts of the thumb print thicker and other parts thinner so that from a distance you can see my face. My idea for this came from artist Chuck Close who used his thumb print in a different way to create self portraits.
