awe, that was a brave little mantis. he had his paws up the whole time ready to defend himself. that was cute at the end too when he watched the cat walk away in relief.

@MBXfilms Ya! it has pretty much every type of terrain also swamps deserts, forests, snow mountains and compared to England which is boring buildings after buildings.

@ZombieCallum America is exotic? Wow, the first, and probably last time ill ever hear that ;)
-
@MBXfilms Oh, then that's why. They aren't really in the north.

Wow, I love the preying mantis. My favorite insect. I used to on two. But I let them go. I got them a couple hours after they came out of their egg.

@MBXfilms um, they aren't rare. They are a regular bug that is common in the warmer states. Do live somewhere up north, it doesn't look like it. I see them all the time. I live in Florida by the way.

@MBXfilms They are easy to get a hold of. What you do is buy the egg cases off ebay or some other site. Then once they hatch let them go around your yard in late spring. They don't wander far from where they are released. We did that and later in the summer found 4 adults that we kept. They can not survive permanently up here in WI, so once winter comes they SOL. I've only had them once, but they were fun bugs. This year I raised various native caterpillars.
