Knicks vs Celtics 2013: Sloppy Defense, Undisciplined Communication and Effort Bury New York

The big story in the wake of the New York Knicks Monday night loss against the Boston Celtics was, of course, the altercation between Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Garnett. Earlier in the night though when the game was being decided on the hardwood, New York made life difficult on itself by not rotating intelligently on defense. The poor communication and lack of sustained effort were to much to overcome, as Boston beat NY on its home floor, 102-96.

This is clearly the problem with the knicks. The Switch!!! But I have to think Woodson can see this. This problem also puts a strain on the offense(Not sharing and caring).

As I a Celtics fan, even I was scratching my head at these mismatches, Melo and Novak, who while being improved defenders, are still pretty much liabilities on the defensive end. I saw many of times where Melo and Novak were guarding Garnett, and mismatch worked in favor of the C's almost every time
