  • The bottom line behind the invasion of Iraq that it happened on the watch of a from Texas who easily manupilated by corporation. The invasion serves multiple interests including Saudis, Kuwait, Isreal and USA, but at $12 Billion per month and 4000 dead the US did not reap any of the rewards which is not say Halibertin and Exxon did not. Saddam is no longer a threat to Isreal, Saudi's got rid of all the fundementals inside their country and Kuwait made more money than all of the oil Saddam burnt.

  • Rick, when I say "leave tomorrow" I know thats not realistic , but it takes longer to say "make the decision to remove all U.S. troops as quickly as possible starting now." In the long run it makes little difference. Glad to clarify. And yes.

  • atayl,

People who assert changing direction equates to abandonment deserve to run off the cliff. YOU are the one who asserted the fateful scenario of the big "WHAT IF". Well, to do so credibly, one should also back it up, but you don't and instead assume it all will go to hell.

Instead, I merely postured that America is lacking a PEACE KEEPING MISSION, which is a change of course and focus. And for that you don't like my rhetorical question that highlights a narrow mindset.

  • Rickeagle, It would be far easier to imagine the BEST possible outcome if we never started this unprovoked attack BASED ON Bush and Cheney's LIES in the first place. Now that we've been there for FIVE YEARS, destroying Iraq, murdering innocent Iraqis, torturing innocent Iraqis, wasting hundreds of billions of dollars, witnessing some of the worst corruption in history, we're supposed to stay because it's hard to leave? RIDICULOUS. America, get the hell out of Iraq because we brought hell there.

  • To say that we even could leave tomorrow is really an uninformed question. It would take a year to properly remove our troops and dangerous equipment from the occupation. (Speaking from the experience of watching the 3 month preparation in Kuwait before the war and the subsequent continuous offload of troops and equipment, as a recalled Navy reservist.)

It's easy for you to imagine the worst possible outcome from your computer chair, isn't it?

  • Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Rice, Powell, Rove, etc., ALL ARE WAR CRIMINALS. Yet the American people are so brainwashed they don't even realize the evil they support. They listen to lies and hear truth. They are fed propaganda and they swallow it whole. I am an American who has been demanding impeachment and trial for crimes since the day this invasion started. Now Pelosi won't even allow impeachment "on the table". I have a message for my fellow Americans. NO IMPEACHMENT. NO VOTE!

  • Because America is incredibly f*cked up when it comes to sex. It's the same reason you can show all kinds of violence and bloodshed in a movie and get an R rating, but the second you show a man or woman naked below the belt, you're likely to get an NC-17 rating.

America was founded by puritans and fighters. We fought for our independence, so we've learned that fighting can lead to good results. But because of our puritan background, we still believe that sex is something to be ashamed about.

  • Look, that's all fine and dandy put it doesn't address my statement/question at all. Yes, the war sucks. Yes, we should have never gone in. But we ARE there so I think my question is relevant. If you don't want to respond to me then do an independant post, don't answer me with more questions.

  • .

To ignore why it all came about only invites repetition of bad behavior. No accountability = getting screwed again!

    Question:

If America creates a PEACE KEEPING MISSION, can we still call it a war?

    .

  • If I were the US embassy spoke person,

I will not give any comments. There are nothing of he was saying is right, unless trying to hide the fact that could not be hidden.
