This video was produced for a class project in the advertising class of Algonquin College's Graphic Design Program.
For this piece Ive decided on showing how pesticides affect all of
us in our day to day lives. It starts with a title Pesticides... in Sierra
Club green in Myriad Bold on a pure white background to capture
the initial attention and fades away to show the first images.
The universal symbol for poison is used to help illustrate the
dangers of pesticides and are shown as small molecules slowly
moving around asif shown in a microscope. The next screen
mentions how pesticides are everywhere and that is followed by
the images of poison in their masses while slowly zooming out
while showing more and more.
...theyre used everyday... is the message that leads to an image
of a green apple showing where pesticides reside on everyday
foods. Keeping the green green format to create a unifying
element throughout the ad.
...and they always end up in you. is the hard hitting truth of
where these everyday pesticides end up, no matter how beautiful
a person is on the outside.
The piece finishes with a call-to-action to the Sierra Club of
Canada website where people can find more information.
