Some strange power issues with this 1990 Porsche 928 S4. She starts and has a good rev, but after she settles down to an idle she starts to cut out and power is way down. You can hear it in the video as I manually rev the engine.

  • Turns out that it was actually a fuel injector wire that came off causing the passenger side bank to shut down. She growls now.

  • Mine sounds a bit like that, not quite that loud, they use a Gilmer belt type for timing belt which do make noise, depends on belt manufacturer used etc search gilmer belt drive and you will see how much noise external ones make, if this doesnt ease your mind I'd take it to a specialist

  • that high pitched whining is NOT right....I heard that noise before when the timing belt pulley was not installed correctly and was rubbing on the crank damper
