Part 7 of this series shows a rise on the Geronimo Creek after a 4.45-inch rain on January 25, 2012. The creek flooded everything under the IH-10 bridge, including the entire area where an attempt to bore 105-feet of 30-inch diameter steel casing pipe failed when the pipe penetrated into the creek. This clip was made the next day from near the same site as Part 6. Part of the 25-feet deep boring trench at right caved in during the flood. This clip and various photos show that considerable soil was washed into the creek. The contractor stopped all work on the sewer project shortly before Thanksgiving 2011 and left the site. A safety fence installed by the city was washed away by the flood. All the ground shown in this clip was formerly vegetated. Hydromulching would have greatly reduced the erosion caused by this flood.
