The reason why only gen 1-4 are in this group is because they were considered the ones that made "Morning Musume" into what it is today. The newer and current generations were/are just riding on the OG members success. Sure they are all popular, have their own talents and fans, but being popular is not the point. I would rather see Aibon than Koharu in this group, but Koharu will attract newer fans so that's why she's here.

@Gengrel absolutely, I do agree. I do think that Morning Musume will get a whole new image now when Risa graduates, and that will maybe be helpful to attract new audience. I think that Morning Musume is hitting low right now, to get to a new Golden age soon. :)

There has always been a spot for Tsuji in this group but she declined, until recently. Last Dec. she and Goto appeared on stage but didn't perform with DMM though DMM and Goto did perform at Goto's last concert recently. AND, Tsuji and Ishiguro Aya, are performing with DMM at Budokan this March.

@xLoliP0p Not dead but possibly on life support. BerryZ and C-ute have both been out selling them lately. The 2 new Gen's may help as well as Ai's and Risa's departure. I will miss Risa but they have been with the group for over 10 years. The changes may help bring some life back into MM but then again, who is going to lead them next? There is no sub-leader now and Sayumi is pushing to be named the new leader. She and Reina may be co-leaders.

@JenEricTV That is true yes, but I don not think that the current members are just "riding on the OG members sucess". I think that all the members in current Morning Musume have their own fans and make their own success, but yes the OG did get morning Musume "going", so I do agree to a certain point, but as mentioned I think that the current members are also making Morning Musume. Otherwise Morning Musume would be dead along time ago!

I'm sure Ai will join as well as Niigaki sooner or later but Ai barely left and will probably want to go solo for awhile I mean she has the skill too but I'm sure in the future she'll be in DMM.

i prefer maki goto and sayaka still here not miki fujimoto and koharu kusumi and ogawa i guess just my opinion as a momosu fan since 1998 , dreeam momosu should be the older ones not the new ones ,,,,,ichi-goma pleasssssse
