Contra NES Walkthrough (Part One)

Old good Nintendo game - Contra. A piece of nice play, no lives lost. Actually I was trying to finish the game without losing a life, so in some moments I am a bit cautious. Also, I was using turbo buttons, it makes the play easier. And after all, it is not so hard to finish Contra without losing a life. So, this is the first part of my play (levels 1-5).

Are you using tool assisted? Because everybody knows the only way to beat this game is UP, UP, DOWN, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, B, A, START...

What does the 'R' powerup actually do?

@rutgerultimate When you pick it up you shoot faster. R is for Rapid fire probably.

Hi creatura90,

I was using the emulator to record video. It makes a "local" movie in the specific filetype. Then you can simply convert that "local" movie to .avi format.

true or false ?? a major key to beating this game is never changing guns cause you used the same one the whole time cause its the best one.

Yep. using turbo buttons makes everything easier, as you don't have to press the A button like a madman. And for beginners, using the Konami Code is a kinda legit way if you can't stand hard games too much.

yeah i had to swim during the first stage, and i never got past the first tank in the fifth

B stands for barrier. it makes you invincible for 30 seconds or less..
