  • Like any story, the past needs resolution.

    What's passed is prologue.

  • Hey morons at machinima how bout after tons of people ask you what the music is you acknowledge them by saying what the song is r by saying you don't know. It'd be a lot more helpful then your idiot logo at the beginning or all those other useless links thatare poorly and lazily labeled at best

  • @Chewiejds Haha, well, everyone has their opinions about the game, but, oh well. One thing's for sure though: whenever I get a videogame, I will refuse to watch or read any reviews of the game and I won't ask people what they thought of the game until after I've beaten it. I just think that looking at reviews before you finish the game can sometimes tarnish your own opinion. :D

  • @GarryTheGluestick Well applause to you, buddy! Glad I'm not the only one!

  • @GaMEChld They seemed to serve their purpose, and once I got used to it, I never noticed any issues with the flow of the game, even when it came to switching between 1st and 3rd person views. Mr. Sakamoto seemed to keep going on about how he wanted it to feel like NES Metroid again (I know that sounds ridiculous, but he explains it in several interviews while the game was in development). So, that kind of explains why the Wii remote is held sideways without the Nunchuk.

  • @GaMEChld Well, for one, Corruption's controls were fantastic. That is indeniable. When I first saw the controls for Other M, I was a little skeptical at first (I was actually a little skeptical of the entire game when I first saw the E3 Trailer. I jumped to the ignorant conclusion that Metroid had been ruined forever, even though the game had only just been announced). I'll be honest, I really never had too many complaints with the controls. They seemed to work well with the game. *shrugs*

  • @GarryTheGluestick As always, there is no reason we can't be civilized, and just so you know, I thought your first reply was plenty civil. Storyline aside, I am curious as to your opinions on the play control. Perhaps part of my negative attitude was spawned from the distaste of the way they (IMHO) poorly implemented the Wii's control capabilities. I was blown away by MP3 Corruption, and was hoping for strong controls. I don't mean I demand FPS, but the lack of nunchuck...

  • @GaMEChld You do put up a good argument, and thank you for replying in a civilized manner, something I don't believe I put forth to the full extent, and for that I apologize. I do agree with your point about "strong silent type better allows for fans to imagine her as they see fit", as I had always enjoyed it as well. But, when I played the game, I suppose I became so engrossed in the story, I didn't think twice about Samus' character. Hopefully, the next game will be more agreeable to everyone.

  • @GarryTheGluestick [continued ->] Anyway, games are meant to be enjoyed, and as such am glad you found it more fulfilling than I did. Personally, I think painting her as the strong silent type better allows for fans to imagine her as they see fit (same as Bungie did with Master Chief in the Halo franchise). Inevitably, there are going to be annoyed people when a character they imagined a certain way over the course of nearly 2 decades is suddenly painted a different way.

  • @GarryTheGluestick For what it's worth, I didn't read, see, or even hear about any reviews of the game. I simply knew the game came out since there were plenty of TV ads for it, and as a loyalist, bought it without a second thought.

Just because other people own the franchise and can do whatever they want with it, does not rob me of my opinion. If they had made her run into an orphanage and stay shooting children in the head, I'm sure you'd say something. (continued)

  • @GaMEChld time we've ever got the chance to know Samus a little bit. We didn't characterize Samus...Yoshio Sakamoto did, Nintendo R&D1 did...THE PEOPLE WHO MADE METROID. It seems that ever since that terrifying review G4 did of Other M, you guys have had a misconception of Samus' personality. If you want to think that way, that's absolutely fine. I just think that the reasoning and facts that compose the foundation of your argument are a little...misconceived. Oh well.

  • @GaMEChld But she is a total badass! Didn't you play the game? You guys continue to rant about some of the cutscenes...but did you actually play the parts inbetween? I mean, she's killing enemies with all these superb acrobatic moves, and you guys think she's a crybaby? Ridley had to play dead and then dive through a fucking wall just to get away from Samus in Other M. What I also don't understand is that you guys seem to think you've known Samus, when, in truth, this is the first (continued)
