On October 20, 2009, WACO High School hosted a vocal festival in which five schools participated under the directorship of guest conductor Matt Huth. The schools had practiced these songs separately and then joined together to spend the day perfecting the songs they had learned. Participating schools at the WACO Invitational Vocal Festival were:
WACO High School Mixed Chorus under the guidance of Millie Youngquist
Winfield-Mt. Union Mixed Chorus directed by Brianne Schumann
Pekin High School with Kay Evans as their conductor and Sue Hadley as their accompanist
Harmony High School Choir under the conductorship of Julie Vance, with Marcie Atwood as the accompanist.
Van Buren High School Chorus led by Marcie Atwood.
The schools sang several songs together and each school performed a special.
