Broadcast live video feeds of classrooms of each grade level from developed countries to the whole world, some places with 2-way interaction.

-----------------------------------

Education = power. By having access to new knowledge, people may be empowered to solve problems locally and around the world. By being able to read, they may be empowered to learn what is going on in the news and be involved in their local government. At the very least, educated people are empowered to get better-paying jobs and better provide for their families and communities.
My idea is to share the education provided in the top schools around the world with anyone that wants it. There would be "Global Classrooms" in schools in developed countries in different time zones around the world, so a live class could be viewed during the day from anywhere.
The project would require video cameras in classrooms of the best teachers in each grade level, K-12, in America, UK, and Australia (for instance). Cameras could focus on the teacher, the blackboard, and the students in each classroom, and the videos compiled into a live feed to be broadcast around the world over the Internet and TV. Textbooks and reading materials for each class could also be accessible on the web.
Free classrooms could be set up in the poorest countries, with a TV at the minimum, or optimally an internet-connected computer. Additionally, a few classrooms could be set up on each continent with 2-way communication abilities to foster interaction between the Global Classroom and the participants.
The children on "both ends" of the system benefit the kids in the Global Classrooms would benefit by being exposed to children in different financial situations and cultures around the world, and be able to communicate via the 2-way classrooms or pen-pal letters. Of course, the children watching and participating in the global classrooms would have access to some great instruction they wouldn't otherwise get, changing their lives.

  • Amazing idea to help humankind. Everybody has the right to be educated but economic status hinders them. More brilliant ideas to improve human race is greatly encouraged.
