This is the Small Bolt Brushless RC Boat from HobbyKing.com

I'm using an AR5000 receiver in mine which in originally for an airplane, but I had it lying around so I just used that instead of a marine receiver. It works well and didn't get too wet but I will certainly end up getting a marine receiver for it that is waterproof and I recommend anyone else getting one of these to do the same. Everything inside will get a little wet for sure.

  • very nice, im thinking of getting one for myself. Impressive in a way.

  • @tolikamashina if you get one, i would certainly get an Octura x432 propeller for it, it makes a world of difference!

  • I bought this boat and the recommended 2200 mah packs. Dammit, they are way to big for this boat. Im going to go to a more realistic size of 1300 mah. I would advise people of the same. Pictures on OFffShoreElectrics website.

You should show the people how big the battery is in comparison to rest of the boat!

  • @basstronics ok. I have four tunrigy 2200mah 25C batteries and I can get the to fit in my boat. Yes, it is a very tight squeeze and they are barely able to get in there, but they are able to get in there all the same.

I'm looking to get some smaller batteries, Can you let me know how your others do? Thanks!!!

  • @dhoyt7141 Well today I took the "small bolt" out to the pond. You should post on OSE pictures of how yours is set up. I put my battery in line with the motor. The hydro acted more like a sub! Wouldnt plane, nadda. I switched out to 1300 3S 15C and that worked. However the C rating was WAY to low and the pack was hot when it dumped. I will post video on my account shortly.

  • @basstronics Yes, that C rating will not be enough for this boat. You should not draw more than 19.5 Amps from that battery and I know the ESC in the small bolt is 40 Amps. I wouldn't use that battery again unless you are willing to see it burn along with your boat! I had this happen in a plane a two months ago and it was not a pretty sight. I would recommend a 1300mAh at 25C as an absolute minimum.

  • are the pack size 105 33 24?? would also fit larger batteries?

  • going to put a nitro engine on this one

  • would a 50A ESC work with it?

  • Nice little impression there guys. Very cute'nd nifty peace of kit. How much did it cost?

    Greetings from Holland.

  • add some shrink wrap around where the the sleeve meets the metal collar on the prop housing, on the outside of the hull and that will end your water problems on all hobbie king boats,

  • did it vome whit a radio?

  • awesome boat

  • Nice boat! I've got mine ordered as well. I can't wait to get it in my hands. On a forum people recommend to take the whole boat apart and re-seal it completely. So I guess that's the first thing to do for me.

I also got an NQD arrow wind rigger with a 3700kv helicopter motor + esc. But due to water leaking inside the boat and got my shaft broken I can't play with that boat.

  • how long will a 2,2 lipo last?

  • Hi,

    very nice video ;)

To get more range, you have to do 2 things:

    1) tilt up the TX Antenna, tip should go straight up in the air ;)

    2) get the RX antenna above the water level! Make a hole, glue a small tube in the hole and put the antenna wire inside! You will get a lot more range!
