  • I am considering getting 2 finches, I have a cage already set up with feeders and waterbowls, are they worth getting, can you tame them? Are they easy to breed? How big do breeding boxes need 2 be?

  • Umm finches DO NOT require a nest. They only NEED them if you plan on breeding.

  • @catsrule0030 Couldn't agree more.Finches should always be kept in one or more pairs.Unless one wants them to become anxious and depressed.

  • Of course the lady says to buy toys. That's what makes the store earn money. Finches can be inquisitive, but they don't play with toys. The cage she is showing is also waay to small to accomodate finches (!).Maybe she sholud rather tell people the truth: Buy the largest cage you can possibly find, and put in branches from appletrees that are hosed off properly to elimitate any mites that might be on them.Change them regularly. The only thing i agree with is that finches do like their swing.

  • "if you have more than one finch theese are a neccesity"? if you have only one than that's REALLY bad.

  • @veetuv no they do

  • finches don't play with toys..

  • Looks more like a Parakeet Cage, and for only 1. P.S. Finches don't "play" like Parrots. 2. Too crowded (I have a cage a little larger then this but I no toys in it, just a nest, Spa

  • I feel sorry for anyone that she gives advice to about finches! If you chose to get finches do your homework and research the breed first!

  • Yeah, um over crowding a cage like that can injure your finch they do not require a lot of toys, but do require a lot of space to fly around from perch to perch and yes they do require a place to nest wether they are breeding or not. They are an extremely frail type of bird that requires a calm and quiet home. They cannot be held as risk of heart failure could result. So, people please do your research on these birds or any pet for that matter.
